Privacy Symposium – Conference

DigitalMediaLaws is pleased to announce the participation of Prof. Avv. Oreste Pollicino in the next “Privacy Symposium” that will take place in Venice from 17 to 21 April 2023.
The Conference aims to support international dialogue, cooperation, and knowledge sharing on data protection, compliance, and innovative technologies. The conference will gather top-level experts and authorities to discuss the latest developments and the future evolution of data protection regulations.


Aula Mediterrània Interdisciplinary Research Seminar

29 – 30 March 2023

Prof. Avv. Giusella Finocchiaro will take part in “Aula Mediterrania”, an Interdisciplinary Research Seminar organised by IEMed as part of an inter-university programme. The Seminar will take place in Barcelona from 29 to 30 March 2023. More than 30 experts will participate in the event and key issues in today’s Mediterranean will be analysed through nine thematic sessions. These topics include relations between Middle Eastern countries, Russia and China, the challenges and opportunities of energy policies in the Mediterranean, migration management in the Mediterranean, the current state of Turkey’s geopolitics, political power and pop culture in the Middle East.


Rapporti patrimoniali e nuove tecnologie – course

Prof. Avv. Giusella Finocchiaro will be teaching the course "Asset Relations and New Technologies" organised by the Scuola Superiore della Magistratura, at Naples. The course aims to train Magistrates on issues related to new technologies.
The professor will speak on "Artificial Intelligence and Neural Networks" together with Prof. Francesco Romeo, professor of logic and legal informatics at the University of Naples Federico II.


Brussels Telecommunications & Media Forum 2023

On 23 March 2023, Prof. Avv. Oreste Pollicino will take part in the “Brussels Telecommunications & Media Forum 2023” organised by the International Institute of Communications (IIC), on the premises of the Belgian Institute for Postal Services and Telecommunications (BIPT). The Professor will speak on the topic “European Media Freedom Act - what's not to like?” as part of the panel moderated by Dr. Augusto Preta, President of the IIC Italian Chapter. Together with him, Prof. Elisa Giomi, AGCOM, Dr. Tobias Schmid, Media Authority of the North Rhine-Westphalia region, and Dr. Maciej Styczen, Policy Officer of DG CNECT, European Commission, will present.


State competitiveness, digital trade, and cybersecurity

Prof. Oreste Pollicino will speak at the Conference "State competitiveness, digital trade, and cybersecurity" organised by Bocconi University, in collaboration with the DONDENA Centre for Research on Social Dynamics and Public Policy and the United States Mission in Italy.
The Professor will join the high-level panel, which will be introduced by Tanya Cole, Principal Commercial Counselor Chief of Section - US Consulate Milan. The Conference will be moderated by Prof. Greta Nasi, Co-Director of the Master of Science in Cyber Risk Strategy and Governan

On March 2, Professor Oreste Pollicino will partecipate in the tenth congress of the Associazione Stampa Romana "Piattaforme, automazione e racconto dei fatti: il destino sindacale del giornalismo professionale". Professor Pollicino will join Nicola Zamperini, journalist, expert on digital communication, and Giovanni Del Giaccio, macroarea manager for ASR Libertà di informare, to analyze the issue of automation, AI and journalism, copyright and temerarious complaints.
